Welcome back to In Case You Missed It, a.k.a. ICYMI, our weekly blog roundup of the latest stories around the @fwd_mvt and #Episcopal world. Here are some of the topics that captured our attention this week.
Have you stocked up on Advent and Christmas resources? With All Saints’ Day coming up, we’re launching a new feature on the blog—a story of a saint, or in this case, saints. And we’re celebrating with a sitewide sale at Forward Movement. Now through Nov 1, you can take 10% off one order of any size from Forward Movement with code SAINTSDAY. Happy browsing!
And of course, if All Saints’ Day is coming up, that can only mean we’re around the corner from another key moment in the Church calendar: All Brackets’ Day. That’s right, Lent Madness is almost here! Stay tuned to lentmadness.org—and Scott’s and Tim’s ever-entertaining Twitter feeds—for this year’s entrants in the race for the Golden Halo.
Want to celebrate All Brackets’ day in purple style? You can pick up your Lent Madness apparel or drinking vessels here. There’s 2016 winner Dietrich Bonhoeffer, looking bummed he’ll have to relinquish his crown ———>
We love efforts to make the Church’s story—and discipleship and evangelism—come alive online. That starts with great site design, and we came across a few impressive examples this week. Archbishop Welby shared this beautiful UK site on Twitter.
And via Church Marketing Sucks (a great Facebook and Twitter follow), we saw 5 inspiring site designs that came out of Creative Missions 2016.
Does your church or org have a website you’re proud of? Share it with us on Facebook or Twitter!
We’ll close here with the 4th installment of our new Question of the Week feature, which this week went out to clergy and seminarians:
We got some good answers to this one, ranging from “12” to “50” to “When I was 20—but I resisted listening until my late 40s.” Have you heard the call? Weigh in on our Facebook page!
Wishing you a peaceful week.
